they say that if you can make it new york, you can make it anywhere. ren is mosdefinitely doing her thing out there. is that not the most logical choice as cleanup batter on that list of names? if you're not familiar, google "alife" and see how amazingly cool it is to be on the inside front cover of their lookbook.
we went to the beach the other day and met mia. she's 4. her mom looked hapa and her grandma was full-on asian, which would make her 1/4 asian, i'm guessing. anyway she was real friendly, quite articulate and hammy as i found out. when i asked to take her picture, she busted out this pose.
does anyone look at this blog? i have the fantasy that people are super interested and appreciate the innocence of my very amateur photography. but maybe no one is out there. maybe its not worthy of appreciation. i can't tell. i can't tell because no one leaves their cyberfootprint otherwise known as the "comment". maybe its just not comment-worthy.
my attention was drawn to the lack of comments on this blog, ironically, because of an actual comment left by gracieocho a few blogs ago (thanks, grace!). it was nice. refreshing. to have proof that someone was in fact out there felt like a victory of some sort. then i looked inward and realized that of the blogs i read/follow, rarely do i leave any commentary. i think i should start. i'm sure people would appreciate my apprectiation.
i took an 8 hour trip to hilo on monday - got in at 1, went home at 9. got to spend time with uncle jay boy. he took me to the beach, we drove around town and i ended up letting him drive the van until he pulled over and asked me to take over. good times.
the beach we went to was 4 miles in keaukaha. drove by the place probably dozens of times but never took the time out to go for a swim. keaukaha is full of brackish water swimming holes because of the abundance of fresh water springs. you can't really see it in that one weird photo, but in real life, we could see the fresh water bubbling up. the water wasn't exactly clear... but not murky either. hazy? not sure how to describe it but i'm sure its an effect of the fresh water mixing with the salt water.
