this is my friend larry. he's in afghanistan right now teaching the government how to handle their money. great man, great husband, has some pretty awesome kids. i'll try to post more photos of them. check out his blog.

lacrosse in hawaii?

who knew? what is predominantly considered an east coast sport, lacrosse is growing here in hawaii. kaleb just finished his first season and he's excited for the next one. after soccer, baseball, basketball, boxing, and football... finally a sport he likes!

LWLH: ala moana beach - cuzzin edition

the little girl (lea) belongs to kammy's cousin crisann, who once said, "i ain't ever having kids!" she helped to babysit and raise her sister's 3 kids who are now 12, 8, and 5 years old. all that practice has made her a great mommy. crissy brings lea over once a week so our kids can play. they're buddies.

the guy in the red hat is leslie obara with his baby girl ellie. i hadn't seen this guy in probably 8 years and we run into each other randomly at a secluded park with no one around. he was spending the day picnicking (sp?) with his girlfriend and her mom and sister. i saw them in the distance as we were walking towards them and just thought they were some japanese family, when i hear the dude say, "eh, jensen!" he said he recognized me sorta by my face and got the confirmation with my leg tattoo. we talked and talked until it felt like we were neglecting our families. it was nice catching up and meeting his daughter. ladies and gentlemen, les obara.

sleepless in hawaii

so here's part 2 of the lack o' sleep blog.

got home and actually slept for 2 hours before kaleb's game. passed out in the sun the last 15 minutes of the game though. got home and got another 4 hours (1-5pm). went to bed at midnight-ish.

not as dramatic as i thought it would be. all caught up now.

i'm no doctor...

... but this can't be healthy can it?

got up at 7am on may 13th
went to work at 10pm on the same day and got off work at 6am on may 14th.

*which means i'd been awake for about 24 hours*

slept from about 630am til around 3pm... still may 14th (decent anount of sleep).
went back to work at 10pm again and got off at 6am again on may 15th but...

here's where it starts getting weird.

i didn't go to sleep right away because instead of going home, i went to play a little jiu-jitsu from 630-830am. i was supposed to sleep from 9 til whenever, but decided to go to a birthday party at chuck e. cheese's that started at 1030am. by the time we got home and i fell asleep it was probably close to 1pm. only got 1 hour of sleep because kammy (wife) went to a baby expo and left the kids at home. her mom was babysitting, but had to get ready for work. yada yada yada, finally got back to sleep at about 730pm, only to have to get up at 930 to get ready for work at 10 again.

so as i'm typing, in the past 37 hours, i've only gotten 3 hours of un-quality sleep. which means in the past 69 hours (3 days), i've only gotten 11 hours of sleep.

stay tuned for part 2 of this because it's may 16th now and when i get home i'm not going to bed. kaleb has his last lacrosse game of the season and he has to be at the field at 830am, game at 915. the game probably won't end til close to 11, and after last game festivities, lunch, shower and who knows what else... what i'm trying to say is that i'm not sure when i'm ever gonna sleep.
